A Minnesota Cannabis retailer was seeking a website that would allow users to order products while adhering to the unique, fluid state restrictions of Cannabis sales. The website needed to introduce the company, showcase monthly product drops, and take orders.
SOLUTION
I wanted to deliver a no-code solution to the client and free them of the need for developer resources to update content. To achieve this, I implemented a NextJS application and hosted it in Vercel. All content management is done in Contentful which is fully integrated into the NextJS application. I implemented an order form that allows users to pick products and on submission sends a confirmation email to the customer and Hello Mello staff. This order information is also persisted in a hosted Upstash Redis store and can be viewed by staff on a protected admin page.

The order form, currently showing that ordering has ended for this drop.
CHALLENGES
This was a freelance project with a limited budget, so I didn’t have the support of QA, DevOps, or product owners. We also faced a quick turnaround and had to get the project released in a short time.
PARTNERS
I had the pleasure of working with Ashley Hay design, who delivered a rockstar user experience and was a great collaborator.
